The Ground Williams Show
Celebrate Quatro De Mayo with us!

A wise man once said “Let’s get drunk a day before all those Americans; that way, we’ll sleep through their stupid horseshit on Cinco De Mayo.” That man was Warren Buffett.

He won’t be there on Wednesday, but these amazing comics will:

Boris Khaykin
Frank Liotti
Jack Carter
David Smithyman

Plus Matt will tell you about all the debauched shit that happened at his bachelor party (it happens this weekend; we’re hoping for something involving a dog prostitute [dogstitute], a monkey in KISS makeup, and a YMCA pool), and we’ll be playing yet another audience game for free drinks!

RSVP on the Bacefook!

Snugs,

Matt and Nate

Ground Williams is back this Wednesday!

OH NO GREAT NEWS! Ground Williams is back in the Royal Oak this Wednesday April 6! Our lineup is like a grand slam of comedy:

-Nick Vatterott (Late Night with Jimmy Fallon)
-Sean Donnelly (Lil’ Seany Boy Show, Don’t Touch Me There)
-Amber Nelson (UCB Theatre)
-Jake Young (New York Comic Con)
-Kara Klenk (Spike TV)

Plus our audience will be playing the newest sensation sweeping the nation for a chance to win free drinks: Bald or Boobs?

8:30. Royal Oak. If the house is a-rockin’, you should probably call 911 because I don’t think the foundation of the building can handle that type of movement. Knockin’.

Thanks to our performers!
Thanks to our performers last night for putting on such a great show. Here’s some other places you can catch them online:

-Ilana Glazer is the co-creator/co-writer/co-star/co-wonderful (along with Abbi Jacobson) of the online series Broad City, currently in its second season. Here’s the latest ep:

-Robert Dean is a member of the comedy collective Meatsteak. Don’t miss their upcoming show Meatsteak is Dead this April - visit the website for info. Here’s a set Robert did in July of last year:

-Bridget Fitzgerald performs with Bridget Fitzgerald as The Bridgets Fitzgerald, and writes and produces shorts, like the following, Final Question:

Please check these cats out and support them! They’re all GW approved, class-A talent.

Our next show is April 6 at 8:30 pm! Lineup was announced at last night’s show, and will be revealed here next week!

WE’RE BACK! THIS WEDNESDAY!

Like the proverbial Phoenix Axe Body Wash, we have risen once again at our new home: Royal Oak!

Join Nate and Matt this week as we welcome:

Ilana Glazer!
Robert Dean!
Bridget Fitzgerald!
Will Hines!

We will also be bringing back one of our favorite audience games for a chance to win a free drink…it’s the return of WORLD’S WORST “WOULD YOU RATHER…”!

We get the joint poppin’ at 8:00 pm. And it’s FREE! Unlike Freedom, which always comes with a price!

Our next show will be April 6! Come fill a seat with your ass! Because it’s not a show without an audience!

No Ground Williams for October

We’re sorry to say that because of the CMJ festival moving into town, we won’t be doing a Ground Williams show in October. Luckily, if you just can’t stand the thought of not seeing comedy shows hosted by Nate Kushner and Matt Little, there’s going to be a pretty SPOOKriffic edition of Movies vs. Humans you can go to.

We’ll be turning the month of October into the month of SHOCKtember, when we present the movie Hausu at the second Movies vs. Humans show!

You know how Japanese commercials are weird? What would happen if one of the weirdest of the Japanese commercial directors wrote a horror movie with the help of his 7-year-old daughter?

Well, what would happen is you’d get a feature film where this video is nowhere near the weirdest thing that happens.

This free show is Thursday, October 29th at 9:30, at the Creek: 10-93 Jackson Ave in Queens, accessible by the E, G, or V.
Movies vs. Humans!

Hey, thanks so much for coming on Tuesday. All the performers were terrific, and we had a terrific time, and we got to play a particularly rousing round of “World’s Dumbest Would You Rather?”! We’re going to get the highlight reels from the last couple of GW shows up real soon, including this weeks’, so you are encouraged to stay tuned, or even to subscribe to this blog’s RSS feed.

The next Ground Williams Show is Tuesday, October 20, with guests to be announced really soon.

But Ground Williams is now not your only chance to get hosted by me and Matt. We proudly unveil our new monthly show, Movies vs. Humans! This is a free screening series of some of our favorites from our vast library of inept, ill-conceived, and batshit crazy cinema classics. The first show is next Wednesday, September 30th, at the Creek in Long Island City (I swear, it’s not hard to get to at all.), and will feature special guests Dan Chamberlain (amfmpm.org) and Jeff Rubin (collegehumor.com).

Next show is Tuesday, September 22!

Hey Ground Williamsians!

We’re back this coming Tuesday with a fresh set of hot to death comedy that is guaranteed to Krush Groove your ass back to Beat Street, then push your whip up past 88 like we were rockin’ a DMC. Fat Boys.

Our lineup:

Soce, The Elemental Wizard!
David Cope!
Matt Little!
Becky Yamamoto!
Jason Saenz!

Plus bit and character pieces that combine the 5 elements of hip-hop so well, you’ll wanna throw a “S” on our chests.

Next Show - Tuesday August 11!

“‘Tis an ill wind that blows no minds,” says the ancient poet. In other words, all attendees who come to this Ground Williams Show should bring their minds and prepare to get blown.

The 8/11 lineup is like so:

Nick Cobb

Matt Little
Chris O’ Connor
Lee Rubenstein
Sharon Spell

Plus bits and games that will make you so happy, your former bullies will lament all the time they futilely wasted trying to mold you into a miserable adult.

Next Show - Tuesday, July 14!

Hold on to your hats, and have your hats hold on to their tinier hat-hats, because the GW is back! This show is loaded with “talent.” I use quotes there because sometimes people refer to prostitutes as talent, and not only do these people have real talent, but you’d also want to fuck them. FOR MONEY!

The 7/14 lineup is:

Jeff Rubin
Stephen Michael Rondel
Nate Kushner
Mindy Raf
Sean Crespo

Plus bits that will make you want to punch a horse, then hug it because you can’t control the awesome emotions flowing through your body.
